The local currency is the Metical, although the South African Rand is accepted everywhere in Ponto do Ouro. Sometimes the prices of goods and food are given in the local currency, but you may pay in Rands.

So make sure you don’t make a mistake and pay R100 for a toasted sarmie instead of R25!
